President's Message April 2007
As many of you know, President Art Reede, who has held his office for 15 years, retired from the Commonwealth. On Tuesday, March 25, 2008 our local elected me to fill Art’s shoes; they are going to be big shoes to fill. He will be missed greatly.
In my new role as Local President, I cannot devote the time needed to effectively continue as your Chief Steward. Therefore, I am appointing Michael “Murph” Murphy as Chief Steward. Mr. Murphy has served our local successfully as Assistant Chief Steward for the past four years.
Some of the issues we have on our plate as a local are; SPF leave implementation, EPR, Consolidation of the IT jobs in PEMA, PSP and Health from those agencies to OA.
Remember, if you have a meeting with management, you need to ask them, “COULD THIS MEETING RESULT IN DISCIPLINE?” if management answers anything but “No”, ask for a steward.
